Iuri Lupone - Engineering and Tendering Specialist
Iuri Lupone is a civil engineer specialised in the stabilization and restoration of historic buildings. Graduated from the University of Florence in 2011, he is registered in the Order of Engineers of Florence since 2012 (Civil and Environmental Engineering). Since January 2015, he is Expert Technical Advisor for the Ordinary Court and the Court of Appeal of Florence.
In 2011, he started a professional collaboration with Studio Comes, headed by Prof. Carlo Blasi. His work focused on restoration, stabilization and seismic improvement of historic and monumental buildings, such as the dome of the Basilica dell’Umiltà in Pistoia (Tuscany), published in SAHC2014 – 9th International Conference on Structural Analysis of Historical Constructions F. Peña & M. Chávez (eds.), Mexico, 2014, and other historic buildings affected by the earthquake that hit Emilia-Romagna in 2012.
In November 2013 Iuri Lupone participated as structural expert in the UNESCO-led team undertaking a mission to Mosul (Iraq), to assess the structural conditions of the leaning Al-Hadba Minaret (deliberately demolished by ISIL/Daesh in June 2017). Further to the assessment mission, he worked with Studio Comes for the elaboration of the stabilization and restoration project, in charge of the structural analysis and modelling for the restoration intervention. The results of the study were presented in the meeting “Planning for Stabilization and Conservation of Al Hadba Minaret”, which took place in Amman, Jordan, in May 2016.
In 2017 he started his activity as Engineering / Tendering Specialist at Archi.Media Trust Onlus.
