The preliminary phase of the project “Restoration and reconstruction of Al-Raabiya Mosque in Mosul” is completed. This phase resulted in the full documentation of the concerned historic buildings through drone and laser scanner survey, photogrammetry, soil investigations, testing of foundations and masonries, and material sampling, key for the conservation of the structures dating back to the 18thcentury. The definite design for the reconstruction of the part of the madrasa destroyed in 2017 will be presented to the Sunni Waqf and to the State Board of Antiquities and Heritage in early 2022. The team of ARCHI.MEDIA is preparing its second mission, which will inaugurate the project’s operational phase.
